In loving memory of Harry Fonseca
a great painter, a great friend
January 5, 1946 - December 28, 2006
Harry was born (1946) and
raised in Bryte, and was of Nisenan
Maidu, Hawaiian, and Portugese
heritage. Son of the late John and Elsie Fonseca. He studied for a time at Sacramento City College
and with Frank LaPena at Cal State University at Sacramento,
but was reluctant to become an academic stylist, so
he
decided not to continue formal art education in order
to pursue his own vision. His one constant was his openness to new influences and sources of inspiration.
For more on Harry's artistic accomplishments, do a Google search of "Harry Fonseca".
