CAG Reports
:Jordan White, CAG educator rep for this region stated that CAG is currently awaiting the results of the election for the Board for the next two years as well as the financial report from the Conference held in Palm Springs. Ballots were sent to all CAG members and are returned to a "counting house" that will report the final results to the CAG Board. He mentioned that the CAG Board will be meeting in Anaheim on May 31 through June 2, 2002. Jordan welcomed Marcia Mobley Kilian who has applied for the open position of the Parent Rep from this CAG region.
In discussing the conference, it was suggested that a box be put on the Call to Presenters’ form where the presenter could indicate if their session was for novices or advanced participants. Also could indicate if the presentation was hands-on and a practical type of workshop. This suggestion will be passed onto the next conference committee to discuss.
One of the most popular speakers at the conference was Susan Winebrenner. She will be presenting in Folsom-Cordova in December and Galt in January. 2003. It was discussed how to piggyback these sessions with a weekend one for local parents. More discussion on this at the next meeting.
No CAG-PAC report due to Jackie Linn being absent.:

B.Branch reported on her and Nancy Craig’s trip to Texas for training. She indicated that there were a lot of great materials given to them and she will be sharing these at a future meeting. The materials are the result of a Javits grant and she will bring the Identification Tools to distribute at the next meeting in May.
Academic Talent Search – Dr. Thomas, Director of both the ATS and the ACE programs at CSUS was not present. However Sharon Freitas asked the group to discuss making a donation to the ATS scholarship fund. The minutes do not indicate that this has been done during the present year. B.Branch moved that $500 be allowed at this time, it was seconded by K.Baioni and approved by those present. The check will be presented at the next meeting when both the Chair of this group and Dr. Thomas are expected to attend..
